REGARDING THE USE OF PRIVILEGE IN A CASE UNDER INVESTIGATION BY THE AFP
Statement – Senator Pauline Hanson
There is no fairness in this case for either side.
This case can never be tried in a court. The use of privilege to label a person as an alleged rapist – with the knowledge the alleged victim can never be cross examined – is not something I would support.
Parliament and those who sit in it are by definition political. The place and its people are not objective and operate daily based on their own biases.
The loss of a life by suicide is a terrible tragedy for all concerned and I believe the most objective and unbiased way to investigate this matter, if possible, is a coronial inquiry.
